Zyxel introduced Astra to protect against unauthorized endpoint access
A VPN is an essential component of IT security, whether you’re just starting a business or are already up and running. Most business interactions and transactions happen online and VPN

Zyxel Networks has introduced the Zyxel Astra, a new cloud-based endpoint security service that allows small and medium-sized businesses to secure remote users regardless of their location. Zyxel Astra, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, announced today the launch of its new endpoint protection platform. The platform is designed to prevent unauthorized access to endpoints, such as laptops, smartphones, and servers, which are often the primary entry points for cyberattacks.

Tri Nguyen, Channel Sales and Product Manager at Zyxel Networks stated, “The transition to hybrid work policies has created a mobile workforce that provides new levels of flexibility to both businesses and their employees, but has resulted in the decentralization of the network, and is increasing the risk of cyberattacks to SMBs.

Securing the business is no longer only about securing the network. For people working on mobile devices outside of the corporate network, security must be enforced on the user’s device at the endpoint to provide a front-line defense against threats such as phishing and exploit attacks. That is why Astra is such an important service for SMBs in this new hybrid work environment.”

Access control and authentication are provided by the simple-to-use and manage Astra service, which predicts and stops unauthorized endpoint access by giving users the ability to identify people, devices, and applications. Real-time web browsing detection can spot malicious content and react automatically to different levels of threats in accordance with the network administrator’s set policies.

For iOS and Android, the Zyxel Astra app is currently accessible as a licensed service. Astra can be downloaded and installed on up to two mobile phones by each licensed user during the 30-day free trial period for five users. Zyxel Astra is offered in five-user licenses with monthly and yearly subscription options, and each user is permitted to install it on a maximum of two mobile devices.

Astra offers features like:

Ease of setup and use – Astra enables network administrators to easily monitor and control security settings on remote devices via an intuitive web portal and mobile app. The Astra app can be installed on mobile devices to improve endpoint security and protect the company and its employees from phishing and exploit attacks while not interfering with device performance.

Ease of management – The Astra portal makes it simple to monitor and manage employees’ devices. The unified platform coordinates and prioritizes alerts, generates reports and analyses of unusual events, provides real-time visibility and control with customized security requirements such as policy settings, and blocks websites before data breaches occur.

Astra’s cloud-based threat intelligence database is automatically updated and pushed to endpoints in real-time, providing borderless perimeter security. The service returns all aspects of security protection to network administrators, allowing them to monitor and secure users regardless of where they are physically located.
