Bitdefender worldwide cybersecurity leader, introduced GravityZone Security for Containers, which adds run-time support for containers and Linux kernel independence to its cloud workload security (CWS) service. The firm’s unified cybersecurity platform GravityZone provides threat prevention, extended endpoint detection and response (XEDR), and anti-exploit protection for containers running in private and public clouds, with comprehensive insights and management. The new Linux kernel independence enables enterprises to upgrade to the latest Linux distributions without the delays caused by cybersecurity provider dependencies.
Containers have become popular, allowing for faster application delivery and digital transformation activities. Traditional security solutions, which rely on kernel modules to support security functions, may pose an elevated risk in addition to the time it takes to switch to new Linux versions. As a result, workloads running on Linux servers may be more vulnerable to cyberattacks, posing security and system stability issues.
